Dear Maintainer,

Version v5.22.8 of this package has issues as described below and
several other fixes at link [1].
Description:
ldap: PHP 8.2 error when $LDAP_CONNECT_OPTIONS not set Calling
connect() method When the $LDAP_CONNECT_OPTIONS global variable is not
set results in PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: count(): Argument
1 ($value) must be of type Countable [5].

And more in [2][3][4] problems with PHP 8.x compatibility.

NOTE: An NMU must be prepared to correct such problems.
