Dear Maintainer, The Window List extension in Debian currently exhibits a bug where it overlaps fullscreen applications and causes misalignment issues with maximized windows. This bug has already been addressed upstream in GNOME Shell Extensions with merge request !379, but the fix has not yet been incorporated into Debian's package. **What led up to the situation?** This issue is a regression of a bug that was originally fixed but was later reintroduced by upstream developers. The bug, which causes the Window List extension to overlap fullscreen applications and misalign maximized windows, was first reported and resolved nearly two years ago. However, a later update to GNOME Shell Extensions unintentionally reintroduced the problem. Upstream developers have since addressed it again in merge request !379. Further details on the history of this bug and its resolution can be found in the upstream bug report #324: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell-extensions/-/issues/324 **What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)?** Temporarily, disabling and re-enabling the Window List extension through the GNOME Extensions application restores correct window behavior. However, this fix is short-lived. As soon as the overview (Super key) is opened and then exited, the issue returns: maximized windows no longer adjust properly, and the Window List overlaps them again. This cycle repeats each time the overview is used, making the workaround ineffective for long-term usability. **Steps to reproduce:** 1. Enable the Window List extension in GNOME Shell. 2. Open a fullscreen application (e.g., a video player or a web browser in fullscreen mode). 3. Open the application overview (Super key) and return to the maximized window. 4. The maximized window now fails to adjust properly, rendering part of its bottom content behind the extension. **Expected behavior:** The Window List extension should not overlap fullscreen applications, and maximized windows should correctly adjust their size when returning from the overview or lock screen. This issue has been discussed upstream and fixed in GNOME Shell Extensions (MR !379). Please consider incorporating the upstream fix into Debian’s package. Thank you for your time and efforts in maintaining Debian.
