My opinion is that you might as well go with 0.9.0 unless there is something in the new version that makes you hesitant. (I'm not working on this bug myself since I don't use any of the affected desktops (so testing would be harder) and I have too much on my todo list now anyway.) You do have upload rights to Salsa.
