Dear Maintainer, This may be a local issue as im running the sbuild from git, commit 39120d92, but on stable: If i run sbuild with --chroot-mode=schroot --purge-build=never then /var/lib/sbuild/build/reproducible-path/<package>_<version>.changes is created as root:root (on the host) -- all the other files are owned by user:user or user:sbuild this means you cant re-run the sbuild, because the .changes cant be overritten by dpkg-genchanges: dpkg-deb: building package 'chkrootkit-dbgsym' in '../chkrootkit-dbgsym_0.58b-4_amd64.deb'. dpkg-genbuildinfo -O../chkrootkit_0.58b-4_amd64.buildinfo dpkg-genchanges -O../chkrootkit_0.58b-4_amd64.changes dpkg-genchanges: error: cannot write ../chkrootkit_0.58b-4_amd64.changes: Permission denied the unshare chroot mode is not affected: it doesnt put any files in /var/lib/sbuild/build at all. (I'm running sbuild from git on stable - i get a dpkg-buildtree: error: unknown option 'is-rootless' error but that doesnt seem to stop things working in unshare - i think it only means fakeroot installed in the chroot even if rules-dont-require-root as i understand it) sorry if this is an unsupported setup!
