Package: lazarus-src-3.8
Version: 3.8_3.8+dfsg1-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
     I upgraded lazarus from 3.6 to 3.8

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
aptitude upgrade. (Using apt upgrade has the same problem)

   * What was the outcome of this action?
The upgrade stop with this error message from dpkg:
/var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci/preinst: 10: Syntax error: "fi" unexpected

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
     Flawless upgrade

The system did not upgrade unrelated packages and had a mixture of versions 3.6
and 3.8.
I reverted to version 3.6, therefore the installed packages don't show the
state of the system, when the upgrade failed.
