Hi Andrej, this is a tracking bug for a problem that is already fixed in the packaging git via this merge request: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/dash/-/merge_requests/27 The problem was introduced when dash gained a preinst script with a new debconf question. The existance of ./debian/dash.templates makes dh_installdebconf add a dependency on debconf to ${misc:Depends}. But the preinst script handles the situation with debconf not installed, so it should not be a hard dependency. dash depending on debconf broke two mmdebstrap tests and thus the mmdebstrap autopkgtest. Please close this bug with your next upload. I'm just using it to reference it in my mmdebstrap commits. Thanks! cheers, josch
