If no new upstream release for Debian is possible, adding the following commit as a Debian patch would also fix this issue:
https://git.launchpad.net/software-properties/commit/?id=81efc82 The patch is bigger (because it contains ~15 years of translation updates, missing in Debian, of all po files), but I have verified that it applies cleanly and works correctly. Daniel
