When I try this I see the following after that

  dgit: failed command: git ls-remote -q --refs 
https://git.dgit.debian.org/glib2.0 refs/dgit-rewrite/map

FTR, when
   git ls-remote https://git.dgit.debian.org/something
fails, this usually means that the public mirror is broken.

You can work around it by saying `dgit --for-push ....` which causes
it to use the real origin server over ssh (accessible to DD/DM only).

The right place to report this problem is Debian RT.  I will file a
ticket now.
