From reading your answer I am even more in doubt your case relates to
what I reported in the beginning [1], please re-read it. Reopening the
bug therefore.

What hardware are you using to run kodi?

What version of kodi are you running?

Does your system provide a file /usr/lib/i386-linux-
gnu/dri/i915_drv_video.so? And if does, from what package is it?

Note: According to
https://www.debian.org/distrib/packages#search_contents
there is no file i915_drv_video.so in none of the Debian releases, at
least from Buster onward.
