Thanks Tobias!
I gave a good run tonight, but it will take a bit more time.
As far as I can tell, fava v1.26 is the latest version that will still
run on python dependencies available on Debian Bookworm. The unstable
version is based on 1.23, so I have some wiggle room. Upstream is
at v1.29 already, and making great headway on using ever more
dependencies lol. That will definitely be a sid-level problem.
I also see more clearly the problem of npm dependencies not being
part of the source code. I *could* handle this by creating the
node_modules/ target with 'npm install', and then turning that into
a giant patch. What do you think?
Also, do you have any preference whether we include all development
chatter on the bug list, or in private? I don't mind either way.
Hi Chris,
I think it's sensible to include the bug report (I've re-added the
address), so other people can see what the progress is.
True, fava is missing quite a few sources which would need to be
packaged for Debian. At the very least, we need to include them in
"missing-sources". There is another bug report about this, see
https://bugs.debian.org/1031724.
To get fava back into the testing (and stable) distribution, the fastest
way would be to include the missing sources. So I think you should go
with that approach.

Tobias
