Hi!
I have a laptop with an AC97 soundcard, and an USB webcam with an integrated
microphone.
If I boot my computer without plugging the webcam the AC97, soundcard is used
by default by ALSA when loading snd-intel8x0. But if the webcam is plugged
snd-usb-audio is loaded before and thus the microphone is considered as the
default... and the sound doesn't work anymore!
This could be corrected by appending at the end of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base:
options snd-usb-audio index=-2
