As noted in that earlier bug, just closing the removal suggestion is not a solution. In order to prevent the autoremover from refiling it, you need to take some other form of action in addition. Recognizing that you want zmodemjs to stay in Debian I ended up NMUing it to fix the lingering FTBFS. Hope that works for you. With the RC-bug gone, the autoremover will stop trying to remove it.
