You are wrong to think you would be the only person noticing and 
reporting FTBFS bugs.

I always do this extra work, and this included times when I reported 
more than 100 FTBFS bugs in a week.

I did see that trimesh was in BD-Uninstallable after passing NEW yesterday,
and I did immediately know why because I added affects to 1084781 and
dep-wait to skimage when I checked the skimage FTBFS 2 days ago.

I did the extra work of checking what the problem was, and now I got 
double extra work by handling a bug from someone who failed to do so.

As another example, I know that there is likely a 3 digit number of 
packages with unsatisfiable build-depends right now due to the openmpi
FTBFS. Doing the extra work of reassigning a 3 digit number of bugs that
someone reported without doing some minimal effort would not be fun
for me.
