Well, I have the old habit to display error messages on stderr ('not running')
and informational ones on stdout ('running'). But you mention it, in that
case, it's not relevant, since we're not really dealing with status, not
errors, and since all messages are unconditionally written on stdout in the
rest of the script.
So I guess it's just a blatant mark of incoherency which should better
disappear. :)
