Please wait... Error 17 -------------------------------- According to 'info grub', this is a problem with my partition not been recognized. My root partition is /dev/hda2: $ cat /etc/fstab |grep hda2 /dev/hda2 / reiserfs defaults 0 1 $ ls -l /dev/hda2 lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 33 2005-02-28 21:05 /dev/hda2 -> ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part2 $ cat /boot/grub/device.map (hd0) /dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc (hd1) /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/disc The boot dir is in the same partition of "/". I'm using devfs. The hard disk is a Maxtor: hda: Maxtor 6Y160P0, ATA DISK drive This hard disk is set as master: could this be the problem? I have successfully installed grub in a floppy.
