Package: polkitd Severity: important Hi,
sorry for the extremely weak bug report since I do not have access to the machine in question any more but it should be reported anyway. Today I upgaded some laptop I maintain for someone else from bullseye to bookworm. I was running into exactly the same problem as dscribed here: https://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=156286 and the suggested solution adduser --system --group polkitd adduser root polkitd dpkg --configure polkitd dpkg --configure -a worked for me as well. It seems the lxde environment needs polkitd which I can hardly reproduce on my own hardware since I do not use it here. So sorry again for the weak bug report but I think this issue is serios enough to make some noise about. With better information I would have set severity to serious since it breaks upgrades. Kind regards and thanks for maintaining polkitd Andreas. -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.5 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: arm64 (aarch64) Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-18-arm64 (SMP w/2 CPU threads) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages polkitd depends on: ii adduser 3.134 ii dbus [default-dbus-system-bus] 1.14.10-1~deb12u1 ii libc6 2.36-9+deb12u4 pn libduktape207 <none> ii libexpat1 2.5.0-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.74.6-2 ii libpam-systemd [logind] 252.22-1~deb12u1 ii libpam0g 1.5.2-6+deb12u1 pn libpolkit-agent-1-0 <none> pn libpolkit-gobject-1-0 <none> ii libsystemd0 252.22-1~deb12u1 ii systemd [systemd-sysusers] 252.22-1~deb12u1 ii xml-core 0.18+nmu1 polkitd recommends no packages.
