Package: gdm-settings Version: 4.4-1 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: hsu...@bunsenlabs.org
Dear Maintainer, gdm-settings 4.4-1 in trixie/sid, when clicking "Apply", does not ask for a root password, so settings are not applied. The package libglib2.0-dev needs to be installed and should be listed as a dependency. Tested on trixie/sid Wayland on GNOME and labwc (wlroots). Here is the solution for Ubuntu provided by the upstream maintainer (install libglib2.0-dev), it worked for me on sid as well... https://github.com/gdm-settings/gdm-settings/issues/240#issuecomment-2046720046 -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.9.7-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages gdm-settings depends on: ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.40.0-4+b2 ii gdm3 46.0-2+b3 ii gir1.2-appstreamglib-1.0 0.8.2-1.1 ii python3 3.12.2-1 gdm-settings recommends no packages. gdm-settings suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
