Package: file
Version: 4.17-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

file misdetects the attached "Bourne shell script text executable" as
"awk script text". In particular, it is not recognized as executable,
thus causing problems in other packages, e.g., in linda: "W: <package>:
Executable <foo> with perms 0755 is not an ELF file or script." The
version in stable works as expected.

I do not really understand why the earlier rule for /bin/sh does not
match. Anyway, I think the priority for "awk script text" should be
further reduced, since the tested substring can occur embedded in many
other scripts (see the rule for bash a few lines further down).

Regards,
  Joachim
