Package: bitlbee
Version: 1.0.2-2
Severity: important

Hello!
When trying to register to bitlbee, I get an error of "invalid nick
name", because my IRC client sens CR LF as mandated by RFC 1459, section
2.3:

IRC messages are always lines of characters terminated with a CR-LF
(Carriage Return - Line Feed) pair, and these messages shall not
exceed 512 characters in length, counting all characters
   including the trailing CR-LF.

This is unchanged in RFC 2812.

Most IRC software treats both CR and LF as a line separator, and ignores
empty lines. Bitlbee should do so, too.

Regards,
        -- Jorgen
