given that:
* this bug has no answer from his maintainer even with Martin's many
pings,
* that the new upstream builds fine with g++-4.1,
* new upstream release is a minor release,
I will do a NMU of the new upstream release in delayed/5.
the diff is attached, and in fact only contains the NMU changelog
entry, and autoconf stuff.
