#664869 was open undisputed for ten years, nobody cared. I am tagging this bug wontfix and will close it with the trixie+1 release. Please point me to the place where this accidental misfeature was ever documented, I might revisit my decision then. If this actually was never documented, please refer this issue to the technical committee.
