Package: sbuild Version: 0.85.3 Severity: wishlist X-Debbugs-Cc: raph...@freexian.com
Hello, it would be nice if sbuild supported the --env=VAR=VALUE command line option like autopkgtest: --env=VAR=value Set arbitrary environment variable in the build and test. Can be specified multiple times. I know that sbuild keeps the current environment but it does filter it and getting rid of the filter requires setting up a configuration file I assume. A bit complicated compared to the expressivenes of the above command line option that clearly says "yes I want that variable". This suggestion is the result of some design work in debusine where we want to make it easy for Debian developers to experiment with changes that can affect many packages. And we believe that the possibility of setting up an arbitrary environment variable is important in that context. https://salsa.debian.org/freexian-team/debusine/-/issues/180 Thank you for considering that idea! -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.5.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/16 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_WARN Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages sbuild depends on: ii adduser 3.137 ii libsbuild-perl 0.85.3 ii perl 5.36.0-9 Versions of packages sbuild recommends: ii autopkgtest 5.30 ii debootstrap 1.0.132 ii schroot 1.6.13-3+b2 ii uidmap 1:4.13+dfsg1-2 Versions of packages sbuild suggests: pn deborphan <none> ii e2fsprogs 1.47.0-2+b1 ii kmod 30+20230601-2 ii wget 1.21.4-1+b1 -- no debconf information
