Why dont you create a link to another dir ? ln -sf /tmp /home/tosi/.xfetrash ?
It does not solve the problem: I've 4 disks, say hda for / and /home. If I delete a file from hde it has to be transfered to hda, and this will take time, and potentialli will fill /tmp or even / if it's not in a different partition.
