I think gparted could suggest the following packages: xfsprogs, reiserfsprogs, reiser4progs, jfsutils, ntfsprogs. e2fsprogs isn't necessary because it's essential. With all these packages installed, gparted is able to manage the related partitions. The supported partition types that still need some work to be functional in Debian are: hfs+ (opened other bug about this) and ufs (ufsutils in experimental only).
