The culprit in that case is likely nvidia-settings_1.0+20060404-1_amd64.deb, which my records show I also installed right before the crashes started to happen.
You may want to reassign the bug to that package. As I haven't touched the other nvidia packages in a long time, and have had no stability issues, they are unlikely to be at fault.
