I can confirm this issue.

The following configuration has been working fine with 3.9:

ssl=yes
protocol=dyndns2
usev6=if, if=br0
server=<redacted>
login=<redacted>
password='<redacted>'
XX.XXXXXX.de

Running ddclient:

WARNING: '' is not a valid IPv4 or IPv6 address
WARNING: found neither IPv4 nor IPv6 address
WARNING: XX.XXXXXX.de: unable to determine IP address with strategy use=ip
WARNING: 'usev6=if' is deprecated. Use 'usev6=ifv6'
Use of uninitialized value $ip in string at /usr/bin/ddclient line 3639.
Use of uninitialized value $_[2] in sprintf at /usr/bin/ddclient line 2160.

For some reason it tries to use strategy "use=ip", when usev6=if is requested.
