Hi, I tried 2.2.1-2. The font quality is still poor. See the following web page for two examples: http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/u/josuomel/tmp/libfreetype6-bug/ I have also included xdpyinfo output (for DPI figures) and ~/.fonts.conf in case they are useful in reproducing the problem. The font in question is Bitstream Vera Sans from the Debian packages, the font size is 11. The problem occurs at least in all KDE applications I have tried; also with the other fonts of the Bitstream Vera family.
