Package: calamares Version: 3.2.61-1 Dear Maintainers/developers, I experienced the following error in more Debian distros (Debian 12, Debian 11, Debian based distros) at EFI mode. I used this cd image now: https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/amd64/iso-hybrid/debian-live-12.0.0-amd64-mate.iso
My Lenovo notebook computer booted from this DVD. My computer can boot in EFI mode only. I selected first menu item and started Live DVD. After from desktop, i selected Install Debian icon I started to install Debian, but installation process was terminated at about 99%, the following messages appeared: The bootloader could not be installed. The installation command
grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi --bootloader-id=Debian --force
returned error code 1. I wrote this in terminal: # lsblk NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINTS loop0 7:0 0 2.6G 1 loop /usr/lib/live/mount/rootfs/filesystem.squashfs /run/live/rootfs/filesystem.squashfs sda 8:0 0 931.5G 0 disk ├─sda1 8:1 0 300M 0 part /tmp/calamares-root-2e98zhjp/boot/efi ├─sda2 8:2 0 923.2G 0 part /tmp/calamares-root-2e98zhjp └─sda3 8:3 0 8G 0 part sr0 11:0 1 3.2G 0 rom /tmp/calamares-root-2e98zhjp/run/live/medium /usr/lib/live/mount/medium /run/live/medium Well, the /boot is the Live dvd (read only), and not the HDD. The HDD is mounted by Calamares at /tmp/calamares-root-2e98zhjp/boot/efi I think, the grub-install --efi-directory=/boot/efi parameter is incorrect. Please fix this problem! Best Regards, László Bonta
