Hello, for my two systems running Debian testing and GNOME, I experience the same problem.
I'd say X is crashing. I find the following lines in my X.org logfile: Backtrace: 0: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(xf86SigHandler+0x88) [0x8089898] 1: [0xffffe420] 2: /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(__libc_free+0x82) [0xb7e60bc2] 3: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(SrvXkbResizeKeyType+0x62b) [0x8149b1b] 4: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(ProcXkbSetMap+0x176a) [0x8126b0a] 5: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(Dispatch+0x15e) [0x80c9a7e] 6: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(main+0x415) [0x80d6785] 7: /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xd0) [0xb7e0eeb0] 8: /usr/X11R6/bin/X [0x8070131] Fatal server error: Caught signal 11. Server aborting After removing the aforementioned file, everthing is fine again. Additionally, I see similar behavior when selection options for the EURO character in the same tab.
