Thanks for the report! I've brought this to upstream's attention [1], but I'm a bit confused as the upstream tests seem to make some surprising assumptions about monotonicity of `datetime.now()` [2]. I'll hold off on further investigation until I've figured out whether I've just misunderstood something on their part.
