Package: bincimap Severity: important
I recently migrated from 1.2.9final-1 to 1.2.11final-3, and I have been having failures when creating new IMAP folders. Newly created folders cannot be SELECTed; when created, they do not contain the bincimap-uidvalidity file. Manually copying the bincimap-uidvalidity file from an existing folder allows the server to SELECT the new folder. How to replicate: Here is a log created by connecting to the bincimap server using the openssl client: openssl s_client -connect localhost:10993 -crlf -- * OK Welcome to Binc IMAP Copyright (C) 2002-2004 Andreas Aardal Hanssen * at 2005 -02-26 09:19:23 PST 1 login baitisj mytestpassword 1 OK LOGIN completed 2 list "" "%" * LIST (\Unmarked) "/" "Archived Mail" * LIST (\Unmarked) "/" "Autobuilds" * LIST (\Unmarked) "/" "Drafts" * LIST (\Unmarked) "/" "Fun" * LIST (\Unmarked) "/" "INBOX" * LIST (\Unmarked) "/" "Sent" * LIST (\Unmarked) "/" "Trash" * LIST (\Unmarked) "/" "cvs" * LIST (\Unmarked) "/" "filtered-spam" * LIST (\Unmarked) "/" "idealab-spam" * LIST (\Unmarked) "/" "mailing-lists" * LIST (\Unmarked) "/" "marketing_materials" * LIST (\Unmarked) "/" "newmailbox" * LIST (\Noselect) "/" "spam-training" 2 OK LIST completed 3 create testmailbox 3 OK CREATE completed 4 select testmailbox 4 NO SELECT failed: when syncing "testmailbox":Invalid argument -- Now, on the server, notice the contents of the 'testmailbox' directory: -- geoff% pwd /home/baitisj/Maildir geoff% ls -la testmailbox total 20 drwx------ 5 baitisj baitisj 4096 Feb 26 09:21 . drwx------ 27 baitisj baitisj 4096 Feb 26 09:20 .. -rw------- 1 baitisj baitisj 28 Feb 26 09:21 bincimap-cache drwx------ 2 baitisj baitisj 4096 Feb 26 09:20 cur drwx------ 2 baitisj baitisj 4096 Feb 26 09:20 new drwx------ 2 baitisj baitisj 4096 Feb 26 09:20 tmp geoff% ls -la cvs total 24 drwx------ 5 baitisj baitisj 4096 Feb 26 08:35 . drwx------ 27 baitisj baitisj 4096 Feb 26 09:20 .. -rw------- 1 baitisj baitisj 28 Feb 26 08:20 bincimap-cache -rw------- 1 baitisj baitisj 74 Feb 26 08:31 bincimap-uidvalidity drwx------ 2 baitisj baitisj 4096 Feb 26 08:20 cur drwx------ 2 baitisj baitisj 4096 Feb 26 08:20 new drwx------ 2 baitisj baitisj 4096 Feb 26 08:20 tmp -- Now, copy the bincimap-uidvalidity file from an existant folder into the new folder: -- geoff% cp cvs/bincimap-uidvalidity testmailbox -- Then, go back to the openssl client: -- 5 select testmailbox * 0 EXISTS * 0 RECENT * OK [UIDVALIDITY 1095375698] * OK [UIDNEXT 5421] 5421 is the next UID * FLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Recent \Seen \Draft) * OK [PERMANENTFLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Seen \Draft)] Limited 5 OK [READ-WRITE] SELECT completed -- So now SELECT works, once the bincimap-uidvalidity file exists. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10-ac12jb Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
