Package: gettext
Version: 0.14.5-3
The gettext.m4 included with gettext differs from the upstream
version, because it was changed in 0.14.5-3 to avoid invoking a
macro twice. Unfortunately, this breaks autopoint:

The diff it is complaining about is in fact that particular
change:

I think you should either revert this change or make autopoint
accept your modified version of gettext.m4. I shouldn't have to
use --force to make autopoint accept the version of gettext.m4
that accompanies the package.
