With dpkg 1.21.14, the Dpkg::Compression module got some improvements, the one that seems relevant to dgit, is that you can now fetch the command-line to execute from a Dpkg::Compression getter instead of having to create a Dpkg::Compression::Process object. With compression_get_cmdline_decompress(). Thanks, Guillem
