Hi Anja - Thanks for the response! Yes, I can confirm that 2.10.2 feels pretty stable, although I'm very much a beginner with the program.
I wonder if it would be possible to add Suggests: headers for a "nice" subset of the packages required to open certain kinds of file in the next upload. Specifically, the ones listed in * short: https://jsvine.github.io/intro-to-visidata/basics/opening-files/#compatible-filetypes * full: https://www.visidata.org/docs/formats/ It wouldn't be right to list them in Recommends:, I feel, but a Suggests: header feels like a really nice packaging enhancement for end users who want to explore more. I'd understand if you can't list them all, because there are a lot, and they might not all have Debian packages yet. And it's inherently a choice, a matter of judgment, if you decide against trying to list all of them. I'm not 100% sure about what feels like a "nice" subset, or what the criteria for such a list should be. Entries for common simple local file formats (Excel, LibreOffice, XML, YAML) and important Open Source databases (MySQL/MariaDB, Postgres) would seem good as a starting point, however. Also, the Debian-Edu team might be interested in seeing visidata's package announce support for big stats package file formats (Stata, pandas, SAS, Numpy, ...) cheers, Andrew On Wed, 9 Nov 2022 at 17:40, Anja <anja.kef...@gmail.com> wrote: > > Hi Andrew! > > We tend to wait to update the Homebrew and Debian until we are sure of the > solidity of a release.
