I don't use Dolphin often, so I cannot say since when this issue exists. However, I only noticed it on 5th of November. I tried to rename a bunch of files using Dolphin. So I selected one file, pressed F2 and entered a new text. Now, if I made a typo, I was unable to correct this. If I hit the backspace or delete key, Dolphin interpreted the key as command, not as text alteration. Thus, upon backspace the parent folder was opened. Upon delete the file was removed. You can imagine that this was very annoying. A workaround was to select some text and enter the correction. That would replace the selection.
