Package: fonts-urw-base35 Version: 20200910-4 Severity: normal Dear maintainer,
during today's Bug Squashing Party I looked at
| #1020205 ("scalable-cyrfonts: FTBFS: cp: cannot stat
| '/usr/share/fonts/type1/gsfonts/s050000l.afm': No such file or
| directory - <https://bugs.debian.org/1020205>)
and identified the problem as follows: This file s050000l.afm was
previously provided by gsfonts package, that package is now transitional
and depends on fonts-urw-base35, but the file is not provided there.
Question: Was this an oversight, or by intention? In the first case,
please update your package so I can fix scalable-cyrfonts. If it's the
latter, can you please provide a transition plan, and mention it in the
upcoming release notes to avoid further surprises.
FWIW, that file is still available via
r-base-core: /usr/lib/R/library/grDevices/afm/s050000l.afm.gz
but it seems a bad design decision to use r-base-core as the source
for the file.
Kind regards,
Christoph
