This sounds like https://github.com/mitogen-hq/mitogen/issues/925 Which was also discussed in https://github.com/mitogen-hq/mitogen/issues/929 I couldn't reproduce it when I applied the patch with 2.13 support in -3, but clearly it is an issue.
