Well, you could try to use winecfg to disable XRandR or something, then
that shouldn't happen.
I could not find that, but I did find the option to let it used a
Windowed desktop. It comes with other disadvantages though:
- full screen games like Dune 2000 only give a tiny 800x600 (or so) window
- in Dune 2000, you can scroll the screen by moving the cursor to the
screen edges. This hardly works if you cursor keeps getting out of the
window. Even with the winecfg setting to let it not go out of the window.
Also, I noticed that Wine hung a lot (with a stuttering sample) if I
choose "ALSA" sound in winecfg. I turned back to OSS, although I'm
running an ALSA kernel (stock 2.6.15).
Thanks for your suggestion though. On the other hand: isn't this just a
bug? I never saw the problem for other software that siwtches to full
screen.
