Package: libfmt-dev Version: 7.1.3+ds1-5 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Recently I have moved from Debian buster to bullseye and have encountered an issue with the libfmt-dev package: one of my source-built programs failed to link due to missing libfmt.a static library. After doing some research, I found out that libfmt-dev from buster-backports expectedly ships the desired binary while bullseye and newer have only .so symlink bundled, hereby causing the breakage. Since linking to fmtlib dynamically is not desirable for my workflow, I want to ask you whether such breakage was intended and if not, could you please add .a library back to the package.
