This was done in Debian release “4.3.4+dfsg.1-1” of ‘python-coverage’.

As of version 6.2, the Coverage.py code makes no use of that library.
Debian includes this change as of release “6.2+dfsg1-1”.

Now that every version of ‘python-coverage’ in Debian since “buster”
has removed this library as a dependency, I am altering this bug
report to record that it no longer affects ‘python-coverage’.
