Package: dokuwiki Severity: important Dear Tanguy,
I hope this e-mail finds you well. Debian's dokuwiki package looks as if it is no more maintained for quite a while. See also my recent NMU to fix two RC bug reports which got it back into testing at least. Anton Gladky (X-Debbugs-Cc'ed) and myself are interested in having a well-maintained dokuwiki package in Debian. We currently intent to salvage Debian's dokuwiki package in accordance with https://wiki.debian.org/PackageSalvaging and https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/pkgs.en.html#package-salvaging as Debian's dokuwiki package seems eligible for the package salvaging process due to these issues: * It is in clear need of some love and care (open bugs, missing upstream releases—at least before my recent NMU—, lots of lintian warnings—unfortunately https://lintian.debian.org/sources/dokuwiki is currently not uptodate to show that there's still work to do even after my NMU—, etc.) * AND there is the need to upload the package to deal with these issues (clearly was the case before my NMU and still is as the NMU only fixed the most urgent compatibility issues, see also comments in https://bugs.debian.org/1004330 and current lintian warnings) * AND not only one but all of the following issues: * There is no visible [maintainer] activity regarding the package for six months. [Actually there's no visible maintainer activity for 3.5 years. Last maintainer upload was on 2018-09-26, no reactions in the BTS to open dokuwiki bugs after that upload.] * The last upload was an NMU and there was no maintainer upload within one year. [Holger's NMU kinda doesn't count, but mine surely counts.] * Bugs exist for more than one major missing upstream version and the first bug is older than one year. (Applies for https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/968453 before my recent NMU.) In case you intend to become active again in the maintenance of Debian's dokuwiki package, we would also co-maintain the package together with you, maybe forming a Debian Dokuwiki Team on tracker.debian.org or so.
