not by default, no. But I'll add uwsgi-plugin-python3 to the Suggests.

I cannot reproduce your finding. Firstly, the uwsgi documentation states that
both "plugins" as well as "plugin" is supported. Please point out where it says
that "plugin" is wrong.

Secondly, the autopkgtest of searx tests the same setup you have:

https://sources.debian.org/src/searx/0.18.0+dfsg1-1/debian/tests/general/

But the job is green everywhere:

https://ci.debian.net/packages/s/searx/

So I need more information before I can do anything about this.
