Package: syslog-summary Version: 1.12 Severity: normal
I am unable to install syslog-summary on a Sid machine as it depends on python 2.2. Currently python 2.2 is unavailable in Sid. The exact errors are $sudo apt-get install syslog-summary Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that the package is simply not installable and a bug report against that package should be filed. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: syslog-summary: Depends: python2.2 but it is not installable E: Broken packages There is another related bug on this http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=266423 which asks the maintainer to update the dependency to python 2.3. This bug was reorted 1 year 250 days before and no action has been taken since then. I am filing this as a separate bug since it does not matter whether it depends on python 2.3 or python 2.4 etc., As long as it is installable, that is fine with me. thanks raju -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.14-2-686-smp Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
