There is a bug in /etc/init.d/alsa-utils. Since next upload please
change

# Exit silently if package is no longer installed
[ -d /lib/alsa-utils ] || exit 0

to
# Exit silently if package is no longer installed
# [ -d /lib/alsa-utils ] || exit 0
