Or is it present but dpkg is just unable to find it? If the latter then you should probably check whether your PATH environment variable contains /usr/sbin and /sbin in it. If the former, then my first suspicion would be on the messed up merged-/usr used by default by Debian. :/ Thanks, Guillem
