Package: locales Version: 2.3.6-7 I thought answering the prompt: "Default locale for the system environment:" would change the LANG variable in /etc/environment as it appears to do in version 2.3.5-6 which I have installed in another (Sarge) machine. Using the 2.3.6-7 version, I can't see that it ever touches the file.
