Package: tor
Version: 0.4.5.10-1
Severity: normal

Dear DD,
I have an old tor installation and installing the version 0.4.5.10-1 tor
stop working, when I start it
# systemctl start tor
I get the following:
systemd[1]: Starting Anonymizing overlay network for TCP
(multi-instance-master)...
systemd[1]: Finished Anonymizing overlay network for TCP
(multi-instance-master).
If I check the status i get
$ systemctl status tor
● tor.service - Anonymizing overlay network for TCP (multi-instance-master)
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/tor.service; enabled; vendor
preset: enabled)
Active: active (exited) since Sun 2021-08-22 11:03:11 CEST; 1min 38s ago
Process: 12862 ExecStart=/bin/true (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
Main PID: 12862 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
CPU: 1ms
so there are not indication of what is going wrong.
I reinstalled previous version and noted that there was a message of
obsolete FascistFirewall FirewallPorts on the logs.
I commented these obsolete configuration and use new configuration
ReachableAddresses,
reinstalled the tor version 0.4.5.10-1 and all start to work again.
I think it is better to inform user that this old option don't work
anymore and to print some errors in the logs.
I open this bug report also to inform other users on how to solve this
problem.
Ciao
Davide
