I wanted to document somewhere that this is a pre-acknowledged NMU, just in case someone else looks at it and wonders.
[14:08] <cpaelzer> Hi, I've recently filed https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=991309 but Arturo said (on the bug) that he is short of time. I wanted to ask the release team about their jdgement if this is worth an NMU followed by tests+unblock bug OR if that should be fine to wait after the release [14:08] <cpaelzer> I'd appreciate an update on the bug, but otherwise answer here and I can copy it over [14:09] <arturo> thanks for paying attention to this cpaelzer [14:51] <bunk> cpaelzer: (not a member of the release team) The release team prefers to discuss this in bugs, "reportbug release.debian.org" and then attach the debdiff from the bug. (looking at the diff, I'd expect it gets accepted without problem) [15:14] <cpaelzer> arturo: when prep the unblocker it is almost no difference in the amount of work for me to also do an NMU of it to unstable - are you (in general) ok with me doing that? [15:15] <cpaelzer> arturo: and if so would you mind to branch off a bullseye branch from https://salsa.debian.org/pkg-netfilter-team/pkg-nftables/-/tags/debian%2F0.9.8-3 - if you do so I can throw you a MR to integrate (later if you want) what I prepare for you [15:35] <arturo> cpaelzer: yes to all (sorry, I'm having food ATM) Also I can confirm that in the meantime the very same change was built and tested fine in Ubuntu [1] and migrated there. I know it isn't the same, but it is one more bit of confidence that the change should be ok.
