Hi Adrian,

You are right. I already asked for 12 unblocks in the past (for
Jessie, Stretch and Buster). However, jailkit is a program that is a
bit complex, with several executables, and I fear for a collateral
problem when changing little portions only (is not
possible/recommended to send a full/new upstream release now). Please,
see a special point of the original message from Jesse Norell:

"The jailkit package needs updated to from upstream. In particular
there is a bugfix for some python2 code within jk_update which causes
it to fail, which has security implications (jails can no longer
be updated with package/security updates to the base system)."

IMHO, the sentence "In particular" is a bad point in a freeze time
because it implies there are several changes that can be dependent on
any change. I am including the upstream (Olivier Sessink) in this
thread (Cc:) and I would like to ask him: is secure to change only the
file jk_update in version 2.21 to the file provided in 2.22? There are
only two lines changed in jk_update from 2.22, but I need to know if
all source code will work well after these changes. I will wait for a
reply to send a patch to Sid and ask for unblock.

Thanks in advance Jesse, Adrian and Olivier.

Regards,

Eriberto
