I've actually been trying to write Josselin a number of times since
June 2020 about this, but I haven't managed to get a substantive
response yet. I'm not sure if he's still the Debian maintainer or if he
is gone now.

Fortunately the project has been resurrected and is actively
maintained. It's even Debianized for a stable and unstable PPA. But
that's not much help to Debian users if they don't know about it
because we can't get it back into the respository.
